Photography Question

Corinna Stoeffl

RAW vs large/low compression jpeg

During an upcoming trip, I will not have access to a computer to download pictures. I have a 1GB CF card and am wondering if I should set it to RAW or to large data/low compression JPEG. In regards to the number of pictures I can fit, the difference is 140 to 330. Up to now, I have only used the high JPEG setting.

This is really just up to you. I would say that if you do a lot of editing to your photos, a lot of levels corrections for example, then you would want the RAW. But I think if you are not doing a lot of editing, you will be better off with the JPG and the freedom to take twice as many pictures.

Just my 2 cents worth...
