Photos are too hot
I am a beginning photographer and was doing a shoot of tiles (kitchen tiles) against a plain white background to be inserted into the white of a magazine page. I have to retake the photos because they were too "hot" as the art director described them, what should be done to fix this?

Melissa, I would suggest bracketing the exposure. Take a meter reading and then do either a half or full stop bracket (plus and minus). This should get your exposure somewhere within the range of shots. If shooting digitally, you might consider shooting in RAW format (if that option is available to you). You could then tweak the exposure in post production.Good luck!
