Can you explain the EV setting on Fuji Finepix A2 While browsing the settings on my Fuji Finepix A201, I found the Ev setting with some decimal number settings? Can you explain how these work? All my camera book said was they were exposure settings. As you can see, I am a novice at using other than the auto setting.

If you are talking about Exposure Compensation (Manual mode only), it adjusts the overall exposure from -2.1 to +1.5 exposure equivalents (EV) in one-third-step increments. This would be to adjust + or - to the settings that you have your camera set to now. If you were are 1/60th sec F8, a -1 would bring it to 1/60th F11. It would give you less one stop of exposure value (EV). You would use this for example if you had a shot to make of someone that is backlit, you might take the cameras recommended exposure setting and then give a +1.5 exposure compensation to account for the extra light that the meter is seeing so the person will come out properly exposed instead of dark. Hope this helps Michael Kaplan Canon EOS-10D http://www.pbase.com/mkaplan
