How to shoot close up flower wiyh black background If using a macro lens for example Nikon 105mm f/2.8,how do I obtain an image of a single flower with a black background? Do I underexpose 1 stop below selected meter reading?

I have taken hotos of flowers that will have a black background by simply using the flash; these were taken during the day! Others may have a different way. Pictured is a sample!
