Blurring the background

Hi All..I shot a picture of two friends during a party. The picture is great but there are distractions in the background I can't crop out. It takes away from the main focus of the shot..my two friends. I use PE2 so could someone help me figure out how to blur the background so my friends are the focus? Thanks! Darlene

OK so here's the picture. It has the potential of being a good shot..yes, I know I should have taken it in vertical..but, duh, I wasn't thinking quickly enough! Can anyone give me some suggestions on how to make it better? Thanks!

Don't want to crop it vertical?

I tried to crop out both sides but when I changed the print size to 5x7 it makes them look elongated (sp?)...well, they look funny! Is there another way to do it? I know I shuld have taken a vertical shot of them..that would have helped focus them as the main subject. This was a big party and the wine had been flowing for awhile! LOL!

Crop, not change the print size.
There should be an options window for the crop tool to put in the dimensions to crop the picture to.
Select crop tool. Then go to windows on the title bar, go down to show options. Put in 5 inches for horizontal, 7 for vertical, and choose your resolution if you need to.
However you crop it, the print size will be 5x7 at the resolution you chose.
