Nikon Lenses Where can I learn about the various lenses that Nikon offers? It seems that every description makes that particular lens sound better than anything else. Are the non-name brand lenses as good?

Check out www.nikonusa.com and click on "Lenses". You can see the specs on the entire Nikon/Nikkor line. As a Nikon user, I highly recommend using their lenses on Nikon camera bodies. If cost is an issue, I've talked with Tamron lens owners who were satisfied with their quality and performance.

Nikon,Nikkor offer some amazing lenses,go to photodo.com for performance rating or photo.net search for some testimonials,IMHO I don't believe most 3rd.party lenses are as good,but thats only my opinion!!!!

This is an excellent site for information on Nikon Lenses. He is a nature photographer that does pretty good lens tests. This is only for Nikon lenses. http://www.naturfotograf.com/lens_surv.html I agree with Michael about the third party lenses. It just seems to be worth it to save $$$ 2 extra months and buy the lens from the same people that made the camera. Chris
