Hi suggest suitable tele converters for AFNikkor 70-300mm to be mounted on nikon N60. Iwas told that nikon does not manufacture converters.

Yes, Nikon does, but they are for the AF-I and AF-S lenses. AF-D lenses will need to be focussed manually. However Kenko makes the Kenko Pro 300 1.4x 7 el. TeleConverter f/Nikon AFD. Price is $179 at www.focuscamera.com Call them to be sure your zoom will qualify with the following specs.

It's design was intended for expensive telephotos and larger camera bodies.
All metal lens mounts, both front and rear, and metal core, to support heavy pro bodies.
High quality multicoated optical glass, will match the optical quality of the prime lens.
Optical design of the elements and light path is wide enough not to cause any vignetting.
Requires use with lenses of f/4.5 or wider to reliably maintain auto focus.
Designed specifically for telephotos of 100mm or above.
Work best with telephotos of 200mm to 500mm.
Depth of field is 1/1.4 prime lens.
Exposure magnification 1-stop.
Size: 2.7 x 0.8".
Price is less than 200 dollars
