No Sharpening

I want to be in control of how where, and how much, a photo is sharpened. I selected 'No Sharpening' when I uploaded a picture. But after uploading an image it appears over sharpened, unnatural and unattractive. The picture looks just fine on my computer. I deleted the photo and uploaded it again; I made sure that 'No Sharpening' was selected. Again the image looks over processed. Has anyone else had this issue? Do I need to start off with a soft photo and hope it looks good on Better Photo?

Jim, your work on the upload section seems to have solved my reddish hue challenge as well. Thanks for the good work!!!
