Nice tweak - POTD announcement Has anyone else who gets the BP e-mails about the POTD's there noticed whoever is preparing them for send-out has started adding something that is in some way relevant to the specific photo in the announcement? Kind of fun! I looked back, and they've only been doing this for about a week to 10 days. The award has always been prestigious, but this makes it a little more special, IMO. If you've missed them, here are a few examples: cat portrait – “Check out this cute critter” red and white refraction EoD – “visually striking” pier in fog – “I love long exposure photos where the waves render as mystical fog.” five pups in a wagon – “We have a winner – 5 winners in fact! And aren't they the cutest? I hope you have a PAWsome Tuesday! ;-)” fisherman casting net at sunset – “Catch today's outstanding photo! This one's a keeper. “

I'd noticed the personalized comments on the POTD email. POTD #4848 even had a comment from Jim Miotke about when he'd stayed overnight in a room in a building visible in the photo.
