international library of photography Like others (I've just recently found out)I receved a letter from the Intrnational library of photogahy, and was told that I was going to be published. I sent a check which has not yet been cashed. My questions are 1). Are they ligitamet or should I cancel my check? 2). Can I get a list of more reputibale contests and publishers?

I also have received one of these letters recently. However I did not send any money just yet. I decided to investigate first and was referred here. I'd like to know the same as Ben.

I've some experience with these folks... They will publish your work if you send them the money. What happened in my case is that you enter the online contest and then you get a notice that you won, and to send money to receive a copy of the limited printing that they'll do... My mom got the same letter as I did, and excitedly sent off money to order two copies of the book, after hearing that I had no intention of sending off for the book due to a similar experience with a poetry contest I'd won.... She gave me a copy of the book as a Christmas gift without looking at it first... She was mortified when it was discovered on Christmas Day, my picture wasn't in the book... Since two of her's were it is cherished gift! It was just a little hard to see the disappointment on my mom's face, though I told here twas to big deal.... hth
