Equipment

Hi me again

Sigma is world renowned for the exceptional quality of their lenses. Do you really think Canon makes better lenses. I have asked many pro photographers what they think of sigma lenses and they all agree, Sigma is fantastic. I have a very old Sigma 80-200 High speed zoom and its still the best lens I have (except for the 50mm Rikonen I have). Just a thought !

I guess it depends upon your needs. How critically sharp do you need your shots to be? How important is quality of build? For the averages shooter Sigma is probably fine. But if you look at professional photographers and see what they use 99% of the time they will have a Canon of Nikon lens. When it really matters you go for the best. It depends on your needs. What is good enough for you?

It really depends on the individual lenses you are comparing. Both Sigma and Canon (and Tamron, Tokina, Minolta, Nikon,...) make some fantastic top of the line lenses, and they also make some that are cheap POS.
