How to Get Insurance for Equipment On a trip last month I slipped, but my fall was cushioned by my camera and lens. Good for me but, not the camera and lens. As I replace that equipment, I want to get insurance for it. I contacted my homeowner insurance company and found they will insure hobby equipment but not professional. I plan to move into photography professionally within the next year. What companies offer insurance for professional photographers that you have had good experience with? Thanks. Mike

HI MIKE & HAYLEY! I just insured all of my cameras and equipment this year and also purchased my liabiltiy policy from them. The company's name is 'SFI INSURANCE SERVICES" in Redding, California (however they insure everywhere!). They have been around for years, bend over backwards to help and mostly cater to the businesses around my area (banks, auto sales, grocerie chains, etc.). Their prices are excellent and you can depend on them to be there for all your insurance questions and needs. The phone number is (530) 247-8442 and the agent I work with is Carrie Madrigal. She's awesome and I quarntee she'll give ya a good deal. GOOD LUCK, AND THE SOONER YOU GET INSURED THE BETTER!! THANKS, MARY

Mike I hear that PPofA offers a good photography equipment insurance for a reasonable fee too but I haven't checked it out yet. Kathy
