career opportunities My nephew is a budding amateur photographer and asked me the other day what are the best career opportunities for new photographers. Any ideas? What specialisation he should look for? Medical, architecture, product, etc. .. with all the competition, it can`t be easy to break in.

This is a difficult question to respond to. You can probably tell by now from the amount of feedback. The only way I could answer this is from my own perspective, and that would be to find out "what he likes to photograph" first. One can earn a living or supplement income by finding his/her own niche and becoming really good at it.

I'd say photojournalism. It covers all aspects of photography so he can be prepared to photograph anything.
