Canon 7D vs Canon 5D MarkII I'm looking to upgrade from a Canon 50D to either the 7D (prefer the price) or the Canon 5D Mark II. I primarily shoot landscapes, cityscapes, and flowers. My biggest problem with the 50D is the noise I get when shooting long exposures (like to shoot HDR at twilight). I would like to get the camera that provides me with the least noise on long exposures. I don't care at all about the video feature. Any help would be much appreciated.

I just got the 7D and LOVE IT. It has very high speed continuous 8fps and a low speed continuous 3fps, and it also has this awesome built in leveler. You can also use Canon speedlite wirelessly with it. Canon's site has side by side comparisons also.

For landscapes, full frame is the way to go IMO - I have the 5D Mk II and it is my dream camera. Incredible & usable images at high ISO's. I will shoot at ISO6400 with this camera when needed and for HDR you should see a huge & positive difference. Dont blow off the video aspect as many Hollywood studios are using both the 7D & the 5D2 more & more. A recent episode of "House" was shot with entirely the 5D2. I do very little editing with the images I capture with my 5D Mk II as the raw images come straight out of the camera looking great. Here is one I shot recently at ISO4000 in very low light :) Cheers, Carlton
