Lens needed for weddings

Hey BP Gang!!! I currently own a Tamron 28-75/2.8, a Tamron 28-300/3.5-6.3 XR DI, and a Canon EF 50/1.4 that I use on my Canon 50d. I am beginning to shoot a lot of weddings and am looking to purchase both a telephoto and wide-angle lens - What suggestions do you have. I've looked at the Canon EF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS- which looks AWESOME - but it also has an very high price tag. Any other suggestions?
Thanks a bunch!!!!

  Hi Gretchen,
I started with the Tamron 28-75 as well and it is a fine lens especially for the price but it doesn't compare to the Canon 24-70mm f/2.8L. My friend loves his 24-105 f/4L but I opted for speed. I also have the 70-200 f/2.8 IS and bought mine for about $1800 - the new ones (version II) are now selling at $2500. You may look for the original or even get the 2.8 without IS which sells for $1300.
You might want the IS for weddings though. There are now 5 versions of the Canon 70-200mm lenses and they are all very good. I have also read good things about Sigma's 70-200 f/2.8 but have never used one myself.

Hope this helps,
Carlton
