How to Sell Nature Photos How do you start selling photos when you prefer to do landscapes and plants rather than people?

The key is marketing. Here's what you need to do: Get some nice framed prints and bring them to people you know and offer to sell them. Put up fliers in local community locations that you're selling photos. Find a store that sells nature photography and ask to be a provider. Make a website and advertise to the right audience with Google ads. THAT's how you start selling photos. Good luck!

Another thought is to get involved with a local camera club that occasionally exhibits in venues such as coffee shops, stores etc. In most cases you will be able to price your work and sell it. Even if you can't sell at those places, people become aware of what you photograph. Some places will want a commission, now and then one will come along that doesn't. Also, if your community has some sort of Art Walk monthly or an Arts Council get involved with them. You often get the opportunity to do an exhibition with an Arts Council, which means you not only try to sell your work, but you also sell yourself and make contacts. I'm going through the same things right now, and since my job just disappeared I'm working harder at it. Be patient, Rome wasn't built in a day, don't set your expectations too high.
