Pricing I have been photographing for a couple of years now, but I've never had a paid gig. I was offered to do some product shots. About 100 articles of boxing and martial arts attire. I don't know how much I should charge for such a thing. Can someone help me?

Research your competition. Google "Product Photography _____(insert your city here). See what they charge. Don't undercharge and make sure you have a written agreement. Good luck. (Mark, please don't blast this person to much :) You have such great advice and vast knowledge - Take it light!)

ROFLMAO !!! Ok, ok Leslie! You win. Besides, tis the season of generosity. So here's my scoop on your question, Juice. While the product photography listing at Google may be useful to you as one set of guidelines, the association (one you might consider joining) is Advertising Photographers of America. Check out their pricing survey of about 9 years ago, tack on about 15-20 per cent to get your prices more current and prepare for sticker shock. These are real world figures for advertising photography. You also need to consider the value of your work to your client, where it will be published, how many copies, and what size, the degree of difficulty, all expenses including models, if any, Okie dokie? Gentle enough Leslie?
