How do you get the drop shadow on both sides of the print?

  Hi Robert,

Are you referring to the drop shadows around the images uploaded to BetterPhoto.com?

  Hi Robert,

Now the thing that makes answering your question tough is that I don't use Photoshop or any other image editing program to make those drop shadows. I custom programmed an automatic script to do that, using a very helpful tool called ImageGlue from WebSuperGoo.

All the same, you can do something similar in Photoshop. I would look into making one drop shadow (say on the bottom and right edges) using Photoshops built-in drop shadow function. Then create a new layer and repeat, changing the angle of shadow #2 so that it goes out from the top and left edges. Flatten the image and - viola - you have such a omni-shadowed photo.

Enjoy!

I don't know if this will make any difference in helping you to figure out how to make drop shadows Robert, but here goes....Everything Jim said is accurate but for me to get a drop shadow the only way I know how is to make a NEW FILE...After you have opened up your Adobe PS program...And of course make your new file larger than your original photo. You can make your new file with a white background etc. etc. After making your new file go back to your original photo and use your Marque Rectangle Or Oval tool and select your photo...Go to Edit...Copy Then go back to your new blank file and Edit...Paste. Then go to the bottom right corner of PS and there will be a little icon that says Drop Shadow. Click on this and your Drop Shadow window will pop up then you can play around with all kinds of tools.

And of course as Jim mentioned when you are through Flatten or Merge Visible.

I hope this helps. I may be going about it the long way around but this is how I learned to add drop shadows:)
