Grey Skin Tones
I often take pictures of my kids indoors using a flash. I use the white balance to adjust the camera to the light in the room, and I get skin tones that are slightly grey rather than pinkish in color.

Susan, I believe your problem is setting a balance for the ambient room lighting and *then* using the flash. If your ambient room lighting is artificial incandescent (including halogen) or fluorescent light, this is *not* daylight. Your flash *is* daylight balanced. Set your camera to *daylight* color balance when using its flash indoors and see if this corrects the problem.-- John
