Turbo Quantum problems I have a Turbo Quantum battery pack which doesn't seem to be holding any charge. Does anyone know a fix for this aside from getting it refurbished. And if refurbishment is the only answer, does anyone know where to get that done and the approximate price it would cost?

Mark, most likely the Cells need attention, the best place to start with repairs would be through those recommended through Quantum or them themselves. Chances are it needs to be re-celled. Because after awhile, the cells just lose their ability to hold a charge. If you look at the lamp indicators, they start giving flakey readings or the green ready lamp, regardless of power level, just doesn't come on even though your flash will still fire at reduced power. You can buy spare cells for these on e-bay but Quantum seems to feel the replacements need to be tuned up to each particular rig. That's one reason why they ask you to send your charger in with the pack. Quantum also guarantees their repairs. The battery guys on e-bay don't. Over the years, I've had this replacement done to both my Turbos. Under nearly constant use (but rotated in service) and with proper maintenance procedures, I figure they needed this service once every 5 years. Not bad considering they're lead-acid batteries. Quantum is also pretty efficient at getting this done quickly. Less than 10 days as I recall and cost about $78 bucks plus shipping UPS. Start with the link Deb provided and follow their instructions including sending in the charger.
