What went wrong with this image?

I was using a Nikon D70, with a freshly formatted card, and this was the first image of about 60 that I took. All the others were fine. IS this an indication of a problem with the camera, card, photographer.......?

PS....I put the red stroke around the image because I wasn't sure if the white part would show up online.

personally I did this once and it was because I had my shutter much faster than it would sync with the camera. Did you use the flash???

This is a software glitch in the camera.
I've seen it before and it is rare.

If you continue to see it, ya' might want a new camera. Hopefully it was just a rogue event.

Pete
