Kodak's 100+ year longevity claim


I am a Canon i950 owner that just finished adding the new Epson R800 to my equipment list, a decision made mostly for its archival pigment based inks, as I was more than happy with the Canon print quality. Interestingly, I found myself on Kodak's website reading about Kodak Ultima paper and its claims about 100+ years longevity with HP & Canon printers that use the most current dye-based inks.


I am happy with the R800 for other features outside of the archival requirement, but thought I'd post this in case others are considering replacing a recent dye-based printer for a pigment based one for longevity reasons. I haven't used the Kodak papers so can’t speak to the quality first hand, but if it’s good, this may be a cheaper alternative worth investigating.
