Wireless remote for Canon 40D?? I am wanting to get a wireless remote for my Canon 40D. I went to a local camera store and they said I would have to get a transmitter for it to work with my camera. Is there a different wireless remote that will work with out a transmitter? Or do I need to get a transmitter and a wireless remote? Any insight, help, and suggestions are greatly appreciated! Thanks!! Amber

Hi Amber. Do you need a wireless remote to trigger the shutter or the flash? To trigger the shutter, the only Canon remote is the Wireless Controller LC-5 (~$430) for the 40D. I know it is not fair that the cheaper Rebel series has two options of wireless remote that cost about $25 each. Not sure about third party wireless remote though. Hope this helps.

Thank you very much. I am looking for a wireless remote for the shutter. When I went to our local camera store, they told me I needed a transmitter to make the wireless remote to work. I didn't know if a different type (different brand) of wireless remote would work or not. Thank you very much for taking the time to help me.
