Getting set up - printer & backgrounds

I've been doing photography for quite awhile now and always have done more outdoor shooting.

I've been approached about doing some more studio type shooting at events. They want to have available for people to come get their picture taken then have their 8x10 photo printed so they can take home that day with them.

So I've wondering what I would need. I have some lighting equipment but I'm open to suggestions. However I'm really interested in what printer you would recommend and also what type of background setup that would be suggested.

I have a Canon Digital Rebel XT with several lenses and tripods. I also have a lap top with Photoshop 7 so I feel I am equip there.

I'm hoping for suggestions and advice on the equipment and what to expect.

Thank you so much!

Maybe before we get to answering your specific question, since you appear to be operating a business, how much do you intend to charge for the kind of service you propose here? Is that all you're offering, just an 8x10? No mounting, framing, etc.?

And what's your budget for buying what kind of equipment, where do you intend to use this equipment? does it need to be portable? do you shoot weddings too? what kind of "several" lenses do you have, what size space are you shooting in, with what kind of backgrounds, props, etc., and don't you have any work to put up in your gallery here? My suggestion is that you enlighten us as to what kind of specific planning, oh, and what you've discovered in YOUR OWN personal RESEARCH for this venture. THAT might get you some responses.
Take it light
Mark
