Suitable flash for x-pan

Hi Guys, I have in my assortment of bits and pieces an sb-24 as well as a sb-600. Am I able to use either of these on my x-pan.
Thanks

Hasselblad X-pan? Neither speedlight will function properly in their TTL modes, but the SB-24 can be used in its A (non-TTL Auto) mode by coordinating ISO and lens aperture settings between camera and lens. The SB-600 lacks the A mode, but can be used in M (manual output) and using the guidenumber formula (and/or trial and error) to set exposure - see pp. 34-37 of the SB-600 instruction manual.

P.S. With the X-pan set for panoramic, you'll have to set the speedlight zoom to ~1/2 the X-pan's lens focal length. Eg., with a 50mm lens on the X-pan and set for panoramic, you'll want to set the speedlight zoom head to 24mm.

Thanks Jon, The trial and error doesn't bother me, the best way to learn sometimes. I was just worried about the electronics not being compatable. Thanks again for your response.
