Photography Question

Jennifer Harden

Photo business website

I used the free yahoo program Sitebuilder to build my photo business website and I am not happy with it. I have Adobe Lightroom but haven't played in it really and was wondering if you can build webpages and publish them to your website directly from there?

If not, can you tell me what program you use for your photography website? I'm not happy with how the pictures are displayed and would like for clients to be able to see a slide show of all their prints. I do NOT want to link to another website such as Flickr to do this.

Anyone have anything they've used that they've really liked?

Thanks for your input.

  Hi, Jennifer,

A lot of people will tell you to look right here at Better Photo Premium gallery.

You might also consider SmugMug. They have, IMHO, a better platform an admin interface than BP and the "Pro" plan allows you to use your own domain.

Lastly, there are some really good applications you can install in your own webspace to create a really great professional photo website. Joomla! with some plug-ins is a good choice and there are a number of custom solutions you can explore if you're technically inclined.

Cheers,

RK

I'm currently using Yahoo for my website and it works just fine for me! It's a perfect temp. site for me to see what exactly I want without spending such a big chunk of money right away: I don'tfind using liks to view galleries elsewhere is a problem either and the image quality/color is great.

www.cbraunshausenphotography.com

other than my web address could be shorter (should have thought about that sooner) oh well!!!

I want to keep my domain name. I'm not technically inclined and I don't want to have to learn html so I was looking for a software program to build my web pages, load my pictures and then publish/upload to my website.

Thanks for the help!
