filters

What filter should I keep on my lenses just to protect them, filters that will not affect my pictures and that I can add a uv or polarizer, etc. to for shooting in different situations?

Thanks.

Liz P.

The UV, also called skylight or 1A by different mfr's

Polarizers have their place but I definitely wouldn't keep one on all the time

Don't keep the polarizer on. A uv filter won't effect light levels and the most it will do is cut some uv light from a hazy day, lessen the blueness from uv light. Keeping a polarizer on will make you shoot everything around 2 stops away from normal exposure.
