lens for an n 65 I am trying to buy a 70-300 lens for an n65. I was hoping for it to be compatable with my n 70. I don't have a lot of money, and if I could only get it to fit the n 65 that would be fine. They are both at least 2 years old. I keep hearing bout the new n 65, and I don't know if they mean mine or not. Can you help?

Recently I bought the 70-300 4-5.6G lens for my N65 for about $100 online. I'm not sure if it would fit the N70 since I'm not familiar with that camera. I've used the lens at sporting events, both indoors (without flash) and outdoors and have had excellent results with it.

Hi Kim, Unfortunately you won't get proper functionality if you try to use a "G" type lens with the n70. You need to make sure the lens you get for the n65 has an aperture ring if you also want to use it on the n70. I recommend a Nikon or Nikkor "D" type lens. These will work on both the n65 and n70 camera bodies. Best of luck, and happy shopping!

Below is a link to Nikon's page for the "70-300mm f/4-5.6D ED AF Zoom-Nikkor". It'll probably be double the price of the 70-300mm G. The G lens is a fine lens which offers excellent value, but the "D" version has better glass with ED elements (you’re paying extra for those, though).
