Lenses Compatible with Nikon FM2

I am a student using a Pentax K1000, which I love, but would like to try out my moms Nikon FM2. The thing is that she only has a telephoto lens. I know that Nikkor is a good brand but I'd like to know more about what other lenses would be compatible with the FM2 and what settings I should look for. I want the most well rounded lens (closest & farthest possible) and would definitely need a used one.

First, there's nothing wrong with the K1000. It remains a workhorse in photo courses all over [when one can be found.] Its bayonet is very standard. Its costs are low.

The Nikon FM2 is a slightly newer design but I believe that it, too, is a semi-automatic. I don't there will be a great difference in your results, although I know I'll get arguments from Nikon addicts.

The best camera is the one you own, get used to, and which does what you want it to do. In view of the emergence of digital, you really need to consider whether you want to spend hard-gotten cash on very dated equipment - even though it may be very functional. And, this statement comes from a person that doesn't own a digital camera and has no plans to purchase one for himself.
