Canon hotshoe pc sync adapter

I just purchased a jtl strobe to do portraits at my home. I was wondering would it be a good idea to purchase a hotshoe adapter for my camera to take pictures with the strobe only as a main light or always use my flash to trigger the strobes as a fill light? I just hate to have the pc cord dragging around.

Also, Have anyone used the 4-channel radio slave/wireless studio receiver to trigger strobes instead of using the pc cord?

Thanks

  Hi there,

This is what I have just purchased:

http://www.joesphotoauction.com/radio_slave_system.htm

I have also purchased a hotshoe adaptor for my 420EX to turn into a slave. I too don't want cords everwhere. I would go for the hotshoe adapter because you don't always want flash coming from your camera to trigger the strobes etc. The product I have purchased is suppose to work like a dream (I haven't got it yet) This is costing me US$50 + shipping which is a bargain as infra red equipment in Australia is just too expensive!

Hope this helps.

Which Product didi you buy fron Joe's auction? Did you purchase the digital radio slave or do you just have a adapter on your hot shoe. let me know how the product works when you get it. You mus have purchased the radio slave. I saw it on ebay, this is the same thing , I just didn't know if It would work on my canon elan 7n. I guess it will. I worked at glamour shots and that's what they used. The pocket wizard.

Thanks

I just located teh IR transmitter slave flash trigger wireless studio. This must be what you purchased, I think. It's one piece that sit on your hot shoe and will trigger your strobe. It looks like a small version of a flash. it looks pretty neat. It's It's only one piece no othe cords to plug into the strobe like thos radio wireless receiver on that web sight.

Please respond.
Thanks

I bought the radio slave which is what you will see if you cut and past the link above. Although if your speedlite doesn't have a pc sync connection (i.e. little hole to put a plug into) you will need the wireless hot shoe adaptor as well like I did, but unfortunately I purchase something that looks the same but doesn't work, so I am sending it back to get the adaptor.

Sorry, it has taken so long to reply, I only have email 3 days a week (my day job) I don't have the internet at home yet.

Nat

I just purchased the in expensive pc/sync adapter for now. I'll purchase the IR Transmitter later. I'll just have to deal with the cords for now untl I make some money doing this, then I'll spend more money. It was only 10.99 including shipping.

Thanks alot
