Slideshow creation and video quality

I've been experimenting with different software tools for creating slideshow movies using digital images. The slideshow movie format created were MPEG2 format (720x480 resolution). I've used such tools as MemoriesOnTV 2.0 and Roxio VideoWave Movie Creator. I noticed that the picture quality degraded in the movie, compared to the original digital pictures. I would like to find a software tool, that will maintain the picture quality, as close as possible to the orignal, when converted into a movie (MPEG2). Does anyone know of a good software tool, that can create slideshow movies (in DVD quality), that has capabilities of adding transitions, audio, text, etc., while keeping the quality of the digital images?

Thanks,
Ken

  Hello All,
You maybe be interested in looking at this program as well - ProShow Gold:

It does a variety of things - I have seen some projects done with this program - and the results are good.
