Transporting Film Through Airports Hi! I am from the Philippines, and my mom will be arriving in a couple of weeks. I asked her to get some films in the States (Fuji Velvia, etc.). I realized that it will have to pass x-ray machines in the airport. Will it affect the quality of the film? It will have to pass through 2 x-rays, in the States and in Manila. Thanks.

Hey, Gilbert, make sure she carries the film with her. DO NOT put it in with checked luggage. If you want to be extra careful, have her get "film shield" bags. They are lead-lined and will block the x-rays. Of course, security will want to have a look, but that is a small price to pay to keep your film safe.
