recharging my Metz battery pack I would like to know if recharging the battery pack before it is completely drained will destroy it's memory. It is not new. I have drained the battery down many times

Actually memory is something that you don't want in batteries. Always recharging them before they're completely drained would make batteries only last a portion of what they were supposed to. To prevent that, it was recommended to occasionaly drain them all the way so they would hold a full charge, and last the whole length of time they were supposed to. Supposedly nowadays rechargeables don't do it like they used to. But memory was always something that came from repeatedly recharging before it was completely drained.
