What do you think of the Nikon N2000? I have a Nikon fg-20 and it has been a great camera. I started a long time ago with a Pentax k-1000 and traded up to the Nikon. I have never been sorry about it, but now I feel its time to trade up. What do you think about the N2000 as far as quality and reliability? I am an Insurance investigator and regularly take photos of arson scenes where lighting is very difficult. I considered the N60 but had a photographer contact that told me that he used to swear by Nikon and now he swears at them. I hear that the older Nikons are much more reliable than the newer models and wondered if this is so? I would like the AF feature I think, but never had the opportunity to use one in the field. I am very satisfied with the pictures I get now, I just want the increased features of auto-advance and whatever else might be helpful. Thanks Chris B.

Hi there. I have been using the same N2000 for over 12 years. I've taken it on all my trips, and it still takes beautiful pictures. I only use my 28-210 Macro zoom lens, and also have been wondering if I should upgrade, and how. I want to take detailed nature photos of the tiniest critters that fill the print. Good luck Chris!

I am very new to photography (2 years), but I think maybe I can help. I also have a Nikon N2000 and have found a cheap and easy way to take the macro shots your talking about. Extension Tubes. These and my Nikkor 35-70MM are all I need to take some desent close-ups. I can get a penny to pretty much fill the whole frame. The bad news is tubes are kind of expensive, but the good news is you easily can make your own on the cheap. Take a used teleconverter ($5 at my local Henry's outlet) , and smash out the glass inside with a hammer, being careful not to dammage the rest of the tube. That's it! An extension tube! I use 2 in combination or just 1 when I don't need to get that close. I will attempt to upload a photo to show you... This was taken with just 1 tube, handheld, on an overcast day. The frog was the size of an acorn or something like that. Hope this helps.
