Gallery Background??? Hey! What happened to my black background for my gallery? I have had it like that for years and am not happy that it now is white and boring! Can I change it back?

I went to my gallery settings and see the codes I put in for the font color and background color were gone...and there is a warning, "Do not enter any HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Flash or any other script tags. This will cause your gallery page to break." I don't know if that was always there or not?

Mine's white now, too....UGH!!! I guess we just wait until all the fixing that Jim's doing is over to see what, if any, options we end up with... :-)

My gray gallery background is white now too. I think in the future we might have the option to have a colored background without 'cheating' and typing code into our settings. I'd be happy if we could have the same gray we see when commenting on photos. The new finalist and winning badges are set into a gray rectangle. On a white background the gray rectangle is quite noticeable but on the gray background (like on the comment page) you don't seen the rectangle. Maybe that is the future for our galleries.

This is the response I got...guess we will just have to be patient, not my middle name :-): A black background is on the top of the list for the mobile-friendly design we're developing.

Hi all, Check out your gallery now :) The background code cheat had to be removed to make the new version. Now you can change the background color via your Gallery Admin Settings... but if you had black before, it's highly probable that your gallery has a black background again. Thanks to all of you who have patiently waited for this. Thanks to all who responded to my recent poll. We now have mobile-friendly galleries! Thanks,

New message from Jim this morning...Another note: your black background is intact. I just had to remove the code from the gallery blurb and upload the new gallery files. Enjoy your new mobile-friendly gallery! Jim My Black BG is back. It will take some time to get used to this new look. I figured out that when I am looking at my gallery, you have to click on the Betterphoto logo instead of the "Pancakes" which were not there to get to the "My Profile" links...At first look, when I went to my gallery, all I saw were my photos with no medals, no titles, no comments...But when I hovered the mouse over an image I saw that you could click on it to see the details...

Sorry to make another post, but the comment editor still doesn't work...I did figure out that to see and make comments, you have to hover over the image and click the "View Details" link. Under the image is the information and "Discuss" is at the bottom...:-)

Love the new look! Seeing the images larger at first glance is super! Looks like changes are being made quickly, and I suspect before long everything will be in working order, and we will all have figured out how to get around again.

How do you know which photos have badges? I no longer have any badges. I do like the new look but miss the badges. What will be done about this?

Not thrilled with the new look. Since I have a website, my gallery's sole purpose was to show BP contest activity -- current entries and medaled images. Now the medals aren't obvious, and the image order looks so jumbled I can't separate these two categories. Unfortunately, I had just renewed for another year ... Another problem: I've always had English and French text, and the French needs accents. They've disappeared with this new version, replaced by other (nonsensical) characters. Is there a chance they'll reappear? But yes, the larger size images is nice.

Here's my take so far. 1) I like the way my photos look in the gallery. They seem to "pop" more. This is my pro and my con, so far.
