35mm SLR camera

Which camera do rate higher? The Nikon N60, N70, Canon EOS 50, 500, Rebel 2000, or Minolta's dynax series? What are the prices?

Which is the best? 28mm-70mm(or 80mm)lens?

For good comparison pricing, see www.bhphotovideo.com.

I've heard many recommend the N60 kit for like $300 that includes camera and lens. It's apparently a good starter kit. The N70's going to cost a lot more. I know nothing about the EOS.

I recommend that you try a Minolta XTsi. I have had one since it first came out and I love it. It has more features than either of the Nikons, it is also easier to use and less money.
Give it a look.

That's because many Minolta AF cameras are built more lightly. Where do you think the cost savings go when one brand offers more visible features for a lower price? That's right, internal construction.
