Photography Question

Mark Carter

What is carded film?

Have seen film described as Carded and can't seem to find an answer on the net.I presume it is something very simple as otherwise it would be discussed more. As always thanks in advance for any replies.

Yes, it is simple, but a little cryptic. It has nothing to do with the film itself. It's the marketing jargon for the type of packaging. Boxed film (in the small boxes) must be set on a shelf, stacked in a special rack, or dumped in a bin. "Carded" means the back of the film box is extended beyond the box to provide a small card above it with a hole so it can be hung from a product display peg.
