Is the Lens Bad?
I have a Sakar 35 - 140 (Canon FD mount) lens that I think has a problem. I notice that the diaphram is slow/sluggish to close. This can be seen two ways: First mounted on the camera with no film, back open and shutter set to bulb and F stop set manually. When the shutter button is depressed the diaphram can be seen closing sluggishly from full open to the selected F stop setting. Like it was damped. The same can be seen with the lens off the camera operating the diaphram lever manually. I would think this closure would have to happen as fast or faster than the fastest shutter speed? Is the lens bad?
