Action Photos and 1600 Speed Film I am using Fuji Super HG 1600 speed film to photograph youth softball games. I chose this film for the fast action. The pictures are developing fine, but they appear to have a somewhat grainy appearance, especially with skin tones. I took some pictures using 200 speed, just to see the difference and there is a remarkable difference. Do you have any suggestions. I am taking the photos in the AF not manual and my camera is set on the sports setting.

1600 speed film is just grainier than 200 speed. There's not a lot you can do about that. If you are shooting these games outdoors during the day you probably don't need ISO 1600 film anyway. The 200 should be more than enough. ISO 400 film should be the most you would need.

I agree with Jeff. 200 speed on a normal / fairly sunny day should be more than fast enough. I have on bright days also used Fuji Reala 100 with excellent results. I am now shooting almost purely digital but when I do shoot film, I almost always go for the Reala. I love that film.
