Upload question When I upload photos to a gallery they end up in the reverse order. Example IMG_101 is listed before IMG_100. How can I get the photos in the correct order. Example: IMG_100 then IMB_101. thanks

Photo sort order in your update center.

I found that option and there are two methods: First option is drag and drop. Second option is resort by changing the order number. There has got to be a better way of sorting. Sorting 300 photos using either method, in my opinion, is unacceptable. Am I missing something?

i agree, I upload a couple of hundred pics onto my companies site for wedding clients to view and have to try and resort them all. it takes hours. I'm sure there used to be a 'reverse order' button on one of the types of galleries???

I would also love to know an easier way of sorting images!

I also agree, it is a nuisance to have to resort my images. I have spent a long time resorting. I dread loading up large amounts of images (which I need to do) for several different groups and having to spend hours getting them back in order. There needs to be a better way.

I hope this makes sense but I totally understand what you are talking about. First, there is an option in the options tab to load images first or last but that only puts them before or after any previous images. It will still upload in reverse order. What I do is before I upload them, I open the folder on the desktop and right click, sort by filename, then you can choose to sort in reverse order by choosing ascending/descending on the right click menu. Once you change the order of the folder, then upload the folder and it should put them online in the correct order. I agree there should be an easier way but this is how I get around it. If this doesn't make sense just respond and I will try to make it easier. Travis

Has anyone found an answer to this original question? My answer (above) worked once for me but I have tried it multiple times since and can't seem to get it to work anymore. Any suggestions from other BPers or from BP managers? Travis

Well, I dont know if anybody still follows this thread or not, but I was also eagerly awaiting an exact same answer. Everytime I upload I manually click on each image in reverse and upload. What a hassle!

I am still following this thread but don't know the answer to it. It would be nice if one of the BP webmasters could answer this or come up with an answer to this.

Since by default, our systems will display your uploaded photos from newest to oldest, there is only one way to reverse this (without sorting photos). That is to reverse the order in which the Drag & Drop Uploader sorts and subsequently uploads your photos. Clayton presented one way of doing this above, but that requires you to have all your photos in one folder. A more flexible method is to reverse the sort order in the Drag & Drop Uploader once you've dragged all the photos into the lower-right pane. In the first screenshot below, you see the default "Thumbnails" view in the lower-right pane. Once you have all the photos you want to upload dragged into that pane, right-click anywhere in that pane and click "Details" in the context menu that comes up. That will switch the view from Thumbnails to Details, which you can see in the second screenshot below. Once you're viewing the lower-right pane in Details view, click the word "Name" in the first column heading to select it, then click it ONE more time. This will reverse the order in which your photos to be uploaded are listed. This is illustrated in the third screenshot. This should place the newest photos first in the list. When our systems reverse the display order after upload, you will see the oldest photos of that upload batch first. I hope you find this method helpful.

I realized I forgot one critical detail that affects this method. Your photos must have file names that are in numerical order based on the chronology in which they were taken. In other words, the file names your camera gave the photos (provided you didn't reset the photo number if you replaced the battery mid-shoot). Something like img0127.jpg, img0128.jpg, img0129.jpg, etc. The default file names cause the photos to list in chronological order, beginning with the oldest. The second click on the Name column header will reverse this order in the Drag & Drop Uploader's lower-right pane, placing the newest photos first. When our systems reverse the order after upload, you will end up with the oldest photos displaying first. I apologize for any problems this unintentional omission may have caused.

Thanks for the info. This helps greatly. Typically if I am uploading a small amount of photos I just use the photo sorter however there are those instances when I am uploading an entire session and this helps in that case. Travis
