Hi Charlene, Great question, and do we have the perfect course for you! Stock Photography Boot Camp is a fairly recent addition to BetterPhoto's online school, yet has gotten great reviews from students who have completed this four-week class. For more specifics, check out the Course Outline The instructor, Scott Stulberg, has a solid background in stock photography, and is represented by Corbis and Superstock. He has tons of teaching and publishing experience (including recent articles in Shutterbug magazine). Charlene, all the best as you pursue stock photography, and thanks again for your interest!

Are the assignments very time consuming? What is the time allotted for each assignment? Can I print out the lessons, to keep for my use later on? Thanks

Hi Charlene, Thanks for the followup! Oh, we have lots of busy people taking our courses ... and the assignments are not overly time-consuming. For four-week classes, assignment submissions are due in one week ... however, instructors ALWAYS accept late assignments. After all, work, school or home pressures sometimes get in the way. :-) And yes, indeed, the lessons can be printed out for reference later. Also, classes are very interactive - among students, and between students and instructor. Class takes place in its own Web site called "Campus Square", where assignment photos are uploaded and critiqued and commented on by classmates. There's also a Forum area for questions, additional photos, etc. This Campus Square remains open for a year after class - so anyone in that class can go back and re-read any critiques, discussions, etc. Here's a very quick "tour" of an online class: Thanks again, Charlene, and let me know if you have further questions!

There are some good blogs on Dreamstime. There are links here to the different blogs that explain what a good image for stock is: http://www.dreamstime.com/res288114

While Stock Photography Boot Camp is no longer being offered, we have an excellent Stock Photography course by Jim Zuckerman that is in the works ... and is planned for November. It will be announced in the SnapShot and Photo of the Day newsletters once it's posted. (Note: Click here for info on our free newsletters.) Thanks again, Pam!

Thanks! Sounds like a great class! The only thing is that I have a Nikon D70s and it is a 6 megapixel camera and the class requirements say need at least an 8 megapixel camera. Can someone or maybe Jim let me know if it's worth taking the class yet if I don't have a high resolution enough camera yet? I didn't realize stock photos needed at least 8mg and I don't want to waste my time taking pictures that won't be good enough until I guy a better camera.. What does anyone suggest? Thanks! Pam
