I have shot several rolls of black and white and color infrared in a studio setting. I am happy with the results for the most part regarding composition and exposure. However, on the black and white, on many (not all) of the exposures, there is a thin, straight line down the length of the film. It is not on every picture, but it is on enough of them that I am lucky to get one or two good shots from a 36 exp. roll of film. I'm handling the film in darkness and I have the window on the back of the camera covered. I'm shooting with a Canon Rebel 2000 and Novatron strobes. I'm shooting with Kodak High Speed Infrared Black and White. A couple of people have examined the film and have said it's the film, but I have purchased several rolls in different places at different times. This does not happen at all on the color infrared. The film is hand processed by the way.
