My Web-Site Wondering why, when I enter a new photograph into my website, it goes to the bottom of the category instead of going to number 1 as the most recent. Anyone else having that problem??? Charlene

YES!! And I HATE it!! I want it back the old way and quick!! I don't even know if I'll renew my site if it stays like this. Why would you want old stuff showing up first?? I don't know what happened. SOMEBODY HELP!!

Same here except mine seem to be a complete mix of old and new. This needs to be fixed quickly with the newest uploads first.

Hello All, I seem to be in the same boat as Paul. Some of mine seem to be sorted by date and other are in a mix of old & new too. I would prefer to have my newer stuff showing up first as Carolyn has indicated she would! Maybe we should drop Jay Wadley a note and see what kind of response we get. If no one else has I would be happy to do it... Let me know!

I hate it too! When I first got my website, I told family and friends to click on "Browse All Photos" to keep up with my newest work. Well now that takes them to mostly old stuff first! I have disabled that page for now, and hope there is a way to put things back the way they were!!

A similar thing happens when you upload to your gallery. But only if you go to the "photo sort order" page. As soon as you click on that, all of the new photos without an assigned order number get kicked to the bottom of the last page, when they were at the top of the first before entering that page. It really makes that "sort order" option useless and a real pain in the tuckus! I want to get a Deluxe Web Site, but this is one thing that makes me hesitate to do so! Ed, please let us know what Jay or anyone else says or ask them to post to this thread with a reply for all of us to see. Thanks!

Sam, yours is a premium gallery, though, right? Unless you go into "Photo Sort Order" in your gallery, they'll stay at the top. But as soon as you click the link to that Sort Order page, all newer posts get kicked to the end, unless you re-number them (or set them all to 1, which is a HECK of a lot easier than re-numbering all of your images!) I guess on the Deluxe and Pro web sites, newer uploads are automatically moved to the bottom of the last page, which is REALLY inconvenient.

I agree that the current process is confusing and frustrating. Many times, the new photos randomly place within the categories and are difficult for me to find, let along someone looking for new postings in my gallery. Can the photo sort order function be integrated into the posting process to allow us to place the photo where we want when originally uploaded? That would make things easier and more flexible for all of us. Bill

Based on suggestions from many of our members, we have gone ahead and added some features to your "Photo Sort Order" link in your admin page to make sorting your images easier. This change has moved unsorted photos from the beginning of your category to the end. We have also added a link making it easier to move your photos from the end to the beginning. If you click on your "Photo Sort Order" link from your admin page, you will see several links next to each new image. They are: "up", "down", "top" and "bottom". By clicking on one of these links, you can quickly and easily resort your photos.

For now, the change has only been made to our Deluxe Web Sites. I am glad the information helped. We are always looking for ways to build on what we have to give our customers what they really want.

I agree. While this new photo sort order can be occasionally helpful, it leaves all my previously uploaded photos a complete jumble. By default, the newest photos should be the first ones seen. As each photo is assigned a chronological number, that should be very easy to do. Then the new options can be used the few times they are needed.

Amy, with all due respect, there are many of us that are not really happy about the new sort order. It doesnt make much sense. Why would we have to re-sort every time we enter a new photo??? Was this new information posted anywhere? Truthfully, I can't keep up with all these new changes...I don't have enough time in my life to keep track of all the with changes like this. It's always a surprise!!!! Change can sometimes be good, but sometimes, why change it, if it's working ok.....Now we have to take more time to sort our photos when it was always done automatically before.

While we all know BP is contantly making many changes, not all of them are necessarily good ones. I can't imagine what was the reasoning for this one. We all pay a lot of money for our websites and many of us utilize our sites for business purposes. I hope you will consider our concerns and return this "feature" back to the way it was and next time please give us an opportunity to voice our opinion or an option to not use all the new features that BP thinks are great but create headaches for us.

Thanks everyone for your feedback. As hard as is is to believe, this sorting change was begged for by dozens of Deluxe site owners for a long time. Some people just don't want their sort order changed every time they upload. I can understand that as easily as your view. For one a change can be great and for another a headache. I'll take another look at this soon and try to come up with an option if possible.

As Joy said, we use our websites as a business tool and when we suggest clients look at our websites, we would hope they would see our newest entries. Plus, who wants to take the time to sort their entries every day???? I really don't have the time to do that. And the other suggestion, is to let the BP members know when a change has been made. I don't always look at the "blogs". I didnt even know there were blogs until recently. Please re-consder and just make it an option for those who want it. There are a few dozen of us who don't want it. Thank you so much Charlene

Well flipping it does make photos show up on a site in numerical order by id number, as well as alphabetical when you upload. First upload comes up first, last upload comes up last. But this reminds me of the contest number change. The few who complained swore that everybody felt the same, not even thinking that not hearing from thousands of others can mean that they don't have a problem. You make a change for every complaint, or do you drive yourself crazy trying to please too many? Maybe you can find a happy medium, maybe you can give a simple option in the admin. page to have numerical order or reverse numerical order. The closer you get to each having their own control is the only way to please the most people.

Uh, not talking about the sort order feature. I said I can understand how some people would want earliest first, and how some would want latest first. I said an option to have photos appear numerical order or reverse numerical order.

While I agree having the newest photos show up first works best for me, I can also understand other people having use for other procedures. I would like to see as much individual control over sort order as possible so that everyone is satisfied. I think that same philosophy would carry over to all aspects of website control. You will now find a new option in the "Gallery Options" link from your Deluxe Admin center that allows you to choose whether you want photos to sort to the beginning or end by default. You of course will still be able to change the sort order through the sort order admin pages at any time. This change only applies to newly uploaded images. Thanks again everyone for your patience

Hi Jay, Thanks! The change is working in my individual categories, but not with the browse option. The shots I uploaded yesterday and today didn't show up in the first 200 photos...I gave up looking at that point.... It seems to be skipping categories.

I just uploaded a photo to test the browse function, and the new photo isn't first or last. Everything is still random order. Can you adjust the browse to allow new photos to show up first?
