Repairing a Minolta Freedom Camera I have a Minolta Freedom ZOOM 70 EX. I dropped the camera once. Since then, when I click on 'Tele-Wide' button, the lense doesn't move unless I push/pull slightly by hand. Also, it makes a noise when the zoom moves back and forth. What could be wrong? I would like to open the camera and find out. Would it be OK? Also, where can I find some free manuals on the Internet? Appreciate any help. Thanks in advance.

You sound very adventurous :) First, if it still works, why not just continue using it. If it is too much of a nuisance, take it in to a local camera shop for a repair appraisal (I doubt it will be worth it, though; repairs generally start at around $100-150). But at least you will know. I would not recommend taking it apart yourself unless you are an engineer and very mechanically sophisticated. Believe it or not, there is a lot going on in there. If you are determined to take it apart and "see how it ticks" first check out camerahacker.com - it's a cool site and a fun place to pook around.

Thanks for your response. It's my friends camera so what do I care!!! Well. He's bought another one and he was going to throw this anyway. Anyway. I'll try the site you advised. Also, I am an engineer and normally like to open the stuff to figure out how they work (even though my better half doesn't like it). Again, Thanks for your response.
