My intention here was to show just how tight some of the streets are in the small coastal villages. I used the filter to help the viwer concentrate on the contents of the image rather than some photographic realism. Could have straightened the buildings; could have cloned in a blue sky and fluffy clouds; didn't, so let's move on folks, little in life is perfect. lol

  Peter, Sometimes it is nice to see things just as they were and this is one of those times. Martin and I have become "Doc Martin" fans and this street could be smack dab in the middle of that Cornwall town as well. It seems that in every episode so far, he has managed to deploy his ABS by an awful lot of near misses on the small country roads.

  I like this Peter and would love to visit some of those small villages sometime.

By the way, suggestions are not always about "realism" but mostly about artistic results. You didn't think I was going to let that statement pass did you? :o)

Must admit, I do like your choice of filter and the orientation and composition. Well done, old friend.

Gorran Haven, a tiny village and harbour on Cornwall's south coast.

Here is an image of another Cornish village just 12 miles from the other one. Note that there is a street sign indicating that there is two-way traffic allowed here in Gorran Haven whereas in Fowey it was strictly one way and is great fun when the trash truck or delivery wagons block the street! Patience is very much a virtue there.
When we were back in Cornwall two years ago we happened to drive over to Port Isaac while they were shooting a Doc Martin episode. The place was crowded with gawkers (like us!)so I didn't get many images but wil search my files to see if I have at least one that might interest you Debbie.
No Dale,we don't let too many opportunities slide to take a little pop at each other's foibles and excentricities do we! There is a wonderful expression back in Yorkshire in the UK. which really needs to be said in a Yorkshsire accent to get the full effect but a script would read thus;
"Eeee by heck Dale; all t'world's a little queer, 'cept thee and me , and even thou art a bit queer." It is used to refer to someone who acts strangely.
A bed would always be available back there. Both my sisters and brother in laws are empty-nesters and being in such a beautiful location are more than used to folk visiting for a few days.
