This is a great whimsical shot Dale. Looks like it could have been a frame from a movie version of Lord of the Rings. Excellent magic effect and I love the BG. Great work!

I am with everyone else on this one Dale as well as the others in your gallery. is WOW very nice. Now the question is did you create the magic off their hands if so give us some details. Out of the three this is my favorite( by the way going in my favorites.) I have always wanted to know how to do that I remember carla doing something cool like that from a coffee cup.

Thank you Rita. Yes, I created the "fire" with a little program called "Fluid Motion". The bright area is simply three layers of white using a regular soft brush, each at a different opacity. The image where he is facing the viewer, I used the same technique but added a star that was blurred. Of course on top of all that used a background I had shot earlier, changed the colors and added color filters and in one case, a blended texture. Also selective dodging and burning. Each image took about an hour to construct including the selection.
