You might have seen this previously but it is just to continue our discussion re Elizabth's paintings. You have kindly pointed out that I have not shown much of her work so I am offering you a link to a vendor that sells her work from a few years ago. She did all of these paintings for EDUpress inc. a publisher of school books and supplies.
They sent her a list of subjects such as all 42 US presidents; famous people etc and it was her idea to paint these with 'frames' on each one that were appropriate to the era that the subjects lived in. EDUpress printed these on board for hanging on school walls . She sold all rights to EDUpress so apart from the initial payment she gained no further monies even though a couple of the presidents prints were used on the 2001 movie "I am Sam" starring Sean Penn and Michelle Phieffer(sp) . Penn played a mentally challenged father trying to bring up a child on his own and the courts were going to take the child from him. He had to prove he could do certain tasks and one of the tests was for him to name some of the presidents from pictures. Pheiffer was his attorney and coached him, using the paintings. We only got to see her paintings for a few seconds but it was enough to have her EDUpress editor in California phone her. Very exciting but no commission!!
A couple of the paintings also appeared in the TV series Boston Public about a high school. Again, exciting but no money!

I will go look at her site sometime today, Peter. Such a beautiful place to create - Lots of light and room to work.

I did find it funny that BP cut off "studio" on the thumbnail and it reads as "Elizabeth's stud". You did that on purpose, didn't you?

You are very naughty Debbie! 'Did it on purpose' eh? I did catch it and was going to give it a new title but then thought, "what the heck let's see who comments on it!" Little did I know it was going to be that nice Debbie :0) Tut, tut!

I only caught it because I have been in that same situation. Years ago I went into the hospital for something minor and had to fill out paperwork. When I got to the paperwork and tried to get "Administrative Assistant" in the appropriate box. Later I saw my paperwork in the mail and Lo and Behold...I was an Administrative Ass! Taught me how to abbreviate just about everything!

Thank you ladies. The great advantage of being empty-nesters is that although it is a small house we were able to make one into the studio but still have one guest room available.
The skylight is small but north-facing so it provides the best type of light for color accuracy. Elizabeth also has a sizable part of our unfinished basement as a "wet studio" where she does her paper-making which is a wet, messy activity. I am not going to show you that as it is not a pretty sight!
Yes, I am allowed in but most of my spare moments are downstairs on the computer in my little den area where the chaos is MY chaos!
Love your story Debbie. Elizabeth gained a hyphen between the Adams and the Marks so is now Elizabeth Adams-Marks. This happened because when she signed up for her degree programs at SIUE the not-so-bright 'admin ass' there recorded it on the computer with a hyphen and that has followed her around ever since in spite of her efforts to get it corrected.
