Should I get rid of the fire extinguisher?

Don't see any reason too. Even if this were a period piece taken at the turn of the century, there would probably be a bucket of sand hanging there.

Love shots like this with sunlight streaming through the windows. Feels all warm and cozy. Just for grins, you might try warming up the sunlight.

The extinguisher is not a problem for me either Debbie, I do like this image but now could you whisper, ever so quietly which city this is in? :0)

Thanks, Dale. I might try a bit more warmth, but I do like the pastel effect as well and don't want to lose that.

Peter - guess it's just you and me who want to know where everything is. BP used to have a feature where people did travelogue type submisssions telling everyone good places to shoot. I don't think they have it anymore. Anyhooooo...This is the old post office in Pueblo, Colorado. I only got off two pictures before someone working there told me to stop. Guess because it was a government building. Too weird. Nothing there other than a beautiful room and lots of post office boxes. Maybe I ought to go back and be a bit more stealth about it.

I love the way the light is hitting the floor. :) I love old buildings. Great shot Debbie. To bad they made you stop

Yup, government buildings can be off limits. At least you got this one in, very nice!

Debbie, the longer I have been retired the more I want to know about locations etc in folks' images. I am sure we are not the only ones who want to know but just maybe there really are some others on BP who have no curiosity whatsoever about such things. I know I shall not live long enough to visit too many of the places we see on BP but the wonder of the Internet is that with just that little bit of information we can visit them virtually and I appreciate it when we are given that info.

Debbie, I love the sunlight coming in and the pastel colors. It looks like there is a lot of marble in the building. Very pretty.

Now, I am torn...I like both the original and the warmer version. Who likes what?

I prefer the warmer version . . . I don't think it lost to much of it's pastel coloring :)

Actually, I was talking about only warming up the sunlit areas, but I like this look also. Don't think you can go wrong, no matter how you treat this image.

cool shot Debbie, I really like the warm version but the original rings more true, we all have been in post offices and knows the feels. So my vote goes to the original post.

I like the tones in the original one the best

I think, since I wanted the mood of tranquility in this particular shot that warming it up only serves to destroy that mood. But I might try warming it up only in certain areas, Dale. This has been a busy week and I am coming and going all day long.

I think the warmer tones make a more nostalgic mood, and also more welcoming. Since I have a horror of post offices, I like that about the second version.

Lisa - do you mean you just don't like to go to post offices or what? I know that I hate to go to my post office near home because they must have looked high and low to find the absolute SLOWEST people in the state of Colorado to work the counters. There is always a line and a long one at that!! People get cranky just going inside.

Well, getting to the post office seems to be the biggest thing-it makes no sense to take half a year to mail something. I think my overseas experiences have influenced me (I walked into a post office here near my house and a room full of people looked up and laughed and then I was told; no, we won't deliver your letter...it was like those bad dreamn scenes in movies :)
The post office in your picture does look so peaceful in comparison
