Hawk in the Bird Bath

Hawk in the Bird Bath
Mirror, Mirror, in the bath
tell me truly of my future path.
Will I soar high on thermal flows,
finding new destinations wherever winds blow?

Am I still stately,
am I still renown?
Do they still admire me
as they watch me from the ground?

Oh, that I may continue to wing
across the majestic expanse,
finding my destiny
in life's journey and dance!

Teresa, he just sat there for the longest time looking at his reflection, so it made me think he was contemplating his life, which gave me the idea to write a short verse about what is thoughts might be. :-)

Quite a capture Mike; not a hawk you see at a birdbath very often! The poem tops it off nicely. Maybe he's deciding if he's seeing friend or foe. Many birds attack their reflections.
