The Red-tailed Hawk is one of the most
well-known raptors we have in the Americas.
Currently, we have one resident hawk at the
Memphis Zoo, “Baroness.” Baroness is a special
animal, who is at the Zoo for a reason. She was
hit by a car and suffered a severely broken wing.
She can be seen taking a ride on my arm or in her
“weathering” area near Stingrays during the week.

What a beauty, thank goodness there are places these injured birds can go to live out the rest of their lives.

An instant favorite that had me saying WOW a few times. I love the raptors, how the hunt, survive, and they have some of the most beautiful colors and features like Baroness has here. What you did with that background is so beautiful and lets her stand out. It is wonderful that places like this exist, even if they can't fly, they become ambassadors. A favorite for me, the story was so interesting to. Beautiful work Candace.
